My promise to voters.
If I am elected, I plan to seek ways to make the State Bar more relevant and accessible to attorneys in Texas. Everyone should feel that the Bar is beneficial to their legal practices, and everyone’s opinion and voice is valued, no matter location, practice area, firm size, or socio-demographic status.
So How Do We Do That? Here’s a few of my goals.
-
Standardize efiling and remote hearings
Standardize electronic filing and the availability of remote video hearings across all Texas counties
-
Streamline grievance system
Examine ways to make the attorney grievance process more streamlined and easier to understand
-
Expand attorney wellness offerings
Expand attorney wellness offerings through the Texas Lawyers’ Assistance Program
-
Create searchable online resources
Create a searchable online resource with clear and concise answers to common questions about the Bar
-
Ensure Legal Self-regulation
Ensure that the legal profession remains self-regulated in Texas
We must all remember that the State Bar isn’t the people elected by its members; the Bar is its members.
If elected, I would ensure that every lawyer knows with confidence their viewpoints matter and will be heard.
